Our all-volunteer grassroots movement here in Texas has come a long way over the last year and a half.
In 2006, before Barack Obama had announced for president, Texans for Obama started as a small book club at El Sol y La Luna on South Congress. Our all-volunteer group grew quickly, and we organized some of the biggest rallies in the country. We have never been a formal group and exist only online and at neighborhood watering holes like Scholz Garten and Victory Grill. Our diverse network of volunteers has worked hard over the last year, and we should be proud of the movement we've helped build.
Now it's time to vote. Not in November, but in August.
The annual Austin Chronicle Best-of-Austin Awards are up for grabs. For the "Grassroots Movement" category, Texans for Obama humbly asks for your vote. The deadline to vote is September 2, so vote today and spread the word to your friends.
Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers who have helped make a difference. There's less than 75 days left, so keep up the good work!

The campaign has been waiting for final answers on lots of logistical issues before scheduling trainings and making assignments. We're now at that point.
There are three groups of volunteers that will be assigned to each of the 31 senate districts to perform functions of oversight and monitoring the process. Another group of volunteers will be needed to staff the Obama office and do projects for the operation.
Here's the latest volunteer alert from the campaign.
We're getting ready for the upcoming Texas County Conventions, and you can help keep our momentum going in the Lone Star state.
Supporters like you were extremely successful in standing up for Barack at the Texas caucuses. Now we need to take the next step.
Join volunteers at our Austin office and help organize and prepare for the County Conventions that will help determine the number of delegates Barack earns in Texas.
We've now won Wyoming, so let's keep up the momentum. Mississippi's primary is on Tuesday, and we need your help. Click here to make phone calls.
If you live in Austin and you want to make calls with your fellow Texas volunteers, then swing by the 816 Congress office, Suite #200. Starting this Wednesday, the Congress office will be open from 10:00am to 8:00pm until the county convention on March 29. We encourage our volunteers to bring your cell phones and laptops, but that's not required.
In addition to phone-banking, we also need data entry volunteers starting on Tuesday. Also, this week is South by Southwest, so we'll be flyering various events. Swing by the office to learn more.
If you live elsewhere in Texas, stay tuned for future office updates. Next week, the campaign will re-open regional offices in DFW, Houston and San Antonio.

Now is prime time. Voters are getting home from work, so we need to call them and remind them to attend their caucuses tonight. Click here to call Texas voters. Thanks for volunteering!
Since this morning, Team Obama has already made 170,000 phone calls. In total, we've made 1,762,844 calls this week. Amazing!
After you vote in tomorrow's primary, you need to complete the Texas Two-Step by returning to your precinct location to caucus for Obama. If you are a precinct captain, be there by 6:45pm. Everyone, aim for 7:00pm, be no later than 7:15pm.
If you have any questions, please call (512) 476-2008.
UPDATE:THIS LIST WAS COMPILED BEFORE THE MAR.4 ELECTION. MANY OF THESE OFFICES ARE CLOSED NOW OR WILL BE CLOSED SOON, WHILE SOME, SUCH AS THE AUSTIN HQ AT 816 CONGRESS, WILL REMAIN OPEN. IF YOU KNOW ONE OF THESE IS CLOSED, PLEASE EMAIL TO LET US KNOW. THANKS!
Our grassroots campaign is firing on all cylinders. We've opened up 20 field offices across Texas, and we need your help during this final weekend before Election Day. Please volunteer to become a Texas Precinct Captain, and swing by one of our field offices and get involved. The election is tomorrow...so it's now or never!
The Clinton campaign had a 30 point lead just a couple of months ago, but our volunteers have worked hard to close the gap. Let's finish the job and deliver Texas for Obama. Yes we can!

We'll update this post with new office contact info as soon as we receive it.
Clinton has called Texas her "firewall" and has launched negative attacks against Obama. It's clear the Clintons will do anything to win, so we need your help to fight back!
If you'd like to meet your neighbors and spread the word about Obama's positive message of hope and change, then sign up to become a Texas Precinct Captain.
The Clinton folks claim there will be 10,000 people tonight in Austin for the Bill Clinton rally. Right now it looks like there's only a few thousand, and a bunch of them are Obama students who still like Bill.
Regardless, our grassroots goal today is to respond by making 10,000 voter outreach calls in order to prove that our people-powered campaign is firing on all cylinders...even when our candidate ISN'T in town. Please swing by one of our offices tonight and make a difference.

Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers who are rolling up their sleeves and getting the job done. We're going to win Texas with our grassroots efforts, and we've already made 5,000 calls this afternoon out of our campus office.
We had another fun debate watch party last night at Scholz Garten, and thanks to all our supporters who signed up to volunteer.
We've had lots of fun on this campaign, but now it's time to roll up our sleeves and get to work. There's less than a week left before our March 4 primary/caucus, and we need your volunteer help!
Our offices are open from 9:00am - 9:00pm, and we especially need people tonight from 6:00 - 8:00pm. We have three offices in Austin, and you're welcome to show up at the office location nearest you.

If last night's 30,000 person rally in front of the Texas Capitol got you fired up, then come volunteer and make a difference. This is a grassroots campaign, and we need your help!
You can either sign up online at www.texasprecinctcaptains.com, or if you live in Austin, then swing by the headquarters located at 816 Congress Ave, #200. As the campaign finalizes its field office locations across the state, we'll post that information as well. Check http://texas.barackobama.com/page/content/txoffices for current locations.
We want to knock on as many doors as possible this weekend to let everyone know that they can vote early until Friday, February 29. At 816 Congress, there will be volunteer trainings today starting at 11:00am, so put on your walking shoes and let's get busy!
If you live outside of Texas but want to make a difference, then please help make phone calls to Texas voters. We have an easy-to-use online phone-banking tool, and you can make a difference from the comfort of your own home.

Our grassroots campaign is going to win this race the old-fashioned way...through hard work and on-the-ground organizing. If you haven't already, please volunteer to become a precint captain.
Enjoy this precinct captain training video featuring Sen. Watson.

Let's join together to work for change and put Barack Obama in the White House. Sign up to join this grassroots movement. Check out this related post on DailyKos.
Even though our Austin volunteer meetup was organized with just 24 hours advance notice, we STILL had over 100 supporters show up tonight for our Virgina/DC/Maryland election results party.
A special thanks to all our supporters who signed up to become Early Vote volunteers. Early voting starts in one week, and we need your help. The Clinton campaign considers Texas to be their "firewall", but we believe our people-powered grassroots campaign will make Texas competitive.
If you'd like to volunteer, please show up on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. for our Grand Office Opening at 816 Congress Ave, Suite 200. If you can't attend this Saturday, then click here to volunteer.
(We've been trying to challege Team Clinton to a friendly Texas kickball tournament, but we can't seem to find any actual volunteers on the ground. If you know any Clinton supporters out there, please tell them to email us at texasobamavolunteers@gmail.com.
