If for no other reason, Texans should be supporting Obama for what it will mean for us all the way down the ballot. His ability to bring new people into the fold is tremendous. This is going to have a wonderful impact on our ability to pick up other races. There is no doubt that Obama is going to bring new voters into the metropolitan areas of Dallas and Houston, which are rapidly turning bluer. But he will also bring new democratic voter across the state including in the valley. Independents who are voting Obama will be much more likely to support other democrats. But most especially he is going to get the other swing voters. That is those voters who would never vote for a Republican but seldom find motivation to vote at all. These are typically the poor, largely minority voters who feel deeply disenfranchised by a long history of unfulfilled promises. Clinton is very tied to that history. Even if Clinton were to win the Latino vote in the primary (not a given) it will be Obama who has a dramatic impact on increasing the Latino vote in the fall. Clinton would only bring out the same tried and true Democratic voter. Obama is going to energize our state party in ways that will put us on the path to reclaiming it for a new Democratic Party of Texas. Step aside Chris Bell there is a new generation of inclusiveness dawning in Texas.

(good questions? Anyone wan to chime in with their proposals? or additional questions? - promoted by mariochampion)
What strategies are being used to encourage Texans to vote Obama in the primaries and beyond?
Is there an effort to develop Obama resolutions that can be the fodder for block walking in the precincts?
Is there a list of leading Hispanics to target for support in every community?
Is there a tour planned that will be aimed at getting out the deeply disenfranchised voters that will have down ballot implications?
Are there joint appearances planned with down ballot candidates?
Is there a list of Texas specific issues that he can address?
