My name is Latifa Ring and I would like to represent Senator Barack Obama as a Delegate at the National Convention.
Senator Barack Obama has inspired millions and has given us this rare moment in history to make the Change we believe in a reality for America. Obama can see the world through the eyes of a person who has been there; who has seen life in a poor country, who has seen life in the back street poor communities and who can relate to the needs of the little people, of the poor people, of the elderly and of the more and more disadvantaged middle class.
I know that together with Barack Obama, we can change the future of our country and make it a better place for our children and for the future. It will take alot of work and I am one of the people who will continue to give 110% as a grassroots supporter of our nominee and future President to help make this change a reality. |
| latifa :: LATIFA RING : Candidate for National Delegate - SD 15 |
I was raised as an orphan overseas where I dreamed of the chance to come to America. At the young age of 18 I came to America to further my education. I was so full of hope and dreams for a future in this great land of opportunity.
Over the past years I have slowly become discouraged as I have seen opportunity for so many slip through the cracks and have witnessed the leaders of our country create a system that allows big companies and interest to prey of the poor and middle class citizens.
I began to loose hope as I myself feel victim to the injustices in our court system that is supposed to help and not hurt the elderly. Systems that are in place to help the disabled and elderly from abuse and financial exploitation such as the Adult Guardianships are stripping people of their rights and robbing their estates. Deep in debt and still trying to help my foster mother I thought how can this be happening?
And Then... I heard Barack Obama... This man is for real. This man spoke not just to my mind but to my heart. He is the man to lead this nation and with his help we can help heal our country's problems and help restore our image domestically and abroad as the greatest Nation on Earth. It was then that I knew it was not enough just to vote but that we had to get involved and help make this change happen and I got up off my couch to join the thousands of other volunteers to work my heart out the help this dream become a reality. I am so excited to see it happening.
I have worked as a grassroots volunteer, as a precinct captain, as a delegate captain, as a precinct chair, as a member of our Senate District Credentials Committee and as an event organizer. I will only keep working harder and harder to help make this amazing man the next President of the United States of America and to help make change a reality after the fall elections.
I hope you will support my candidacy as a national Delegate to the National Convention in Denver.
Thank you,
Latifa Ring
