Webb, Clark or maybe Biden??

At the moment Webb is my favorite. Military experience. Washington experience. He's won elective office - but too recently to be considered an insider...I've always liked Clark as well - but perhaps for Sec. of Defense.
There has been talk about Biden - and aside from his gigantic "clean" gaffe early in the campaign, I thought he did very well in all of the debates. He's a smart, obviously intelligent and experienced guy with a great foreign policy mindset. He can pretty much go toe to toe with anyone. If not VP - then should be seriously considered for Sec. of State or Supreme Court.

Frankly, I do not see any difference in Obama than politicians I've watched for a long time...he says the right things when he's on camera, but his statements have no substance...he fails to include any facts, figures, or solutions...All I hear is Change, change, change...kind of like Marie Antoinette before she was beheaded she was told, "we're fixin to make a big "change" in your life"...that's the way I feel about Obama..I would love to vote for a black or a woman but they have to be experienced, passionate, truthful, insightful, moral, and dedicated..and, for at this very moment I can truthfully say that I have seen none of these characteristics in Obama...does anyone really know anything about him? Every time something comes out about his personal life and personal associates, it's nefarious...frankly, he scares the heck out of me...his economic and military policies are extremely naive and unlicid....I'm not much in support of John M either but he's the rattlesnake without venom (i.e he's less dangerous)...

A VP with national security creds sounds good to me...

To me, a VP with strong miltary experience would do a great job to balance Obama on the ticket. Wes Clarke and Jim Webb are high on my list for that reason. We do live in a danger world, and national security is important to me and many voters. I think a VP with strong miltary experience is likely to defuse McCain's biggest asset, particularly if the US experiences a terrorist attack between now and Nov.
I like Wes Clarke in particular because his experience running NATO during the Bosnia War is VERY RELAVENT to the US moving ahead and winding down our intervention in IRAQ. Wes Clarke can counter McCain's arguments with an exceptionally high level of credibility--having at least as much, probably more, relavent experience as McCain.

Glad to see that Al Gore has stepped up. The right will attack us on Gore's environmental policies...i.e. Global Warming. I expect the right to leverage the emotional gas crisis and how we must "DRILL NOW" to "pay less"...
We'll need to position an effective short and long term message on energy/economy.
The right's play will be that "the Dems are costing us money by not drilling"...and "environmentalists are costing you money"...
Best,
David Kobierowski
Cleanair999@yahoo.com

Congratulations! Texas for Obama delivered an upset for Senator Obama. All the Washington "experts" were wrong. One upset down; one upset in November to go.
Okay Texas, let's show the national pundents that Obama CAN win Texas in November. Our days as a one party state are over. In 2008, Texas is going to stop being an easy state for the Republicans.
Let's become a two party state! Let's get the Texas electoral college delagates for Obama in November!!
Yes we can!!!

One Beautiful Day

I'm an old lady! In Hillary's demographics.
>> And I
>>> was sending emails monthly to Obama in 2006 asking
>> him
>>> to run for president. I told him if he'd run, I'd
>>> work for him. He ran; I've worked hard. If
>> someone
>>> had ever told me I would be a precinct captain and
>>> have to argue with an experienced Hillary precinct
>>> chairman all day and into the caucus night, I
>> would
>>> have never believed it. But I did.
>>> It made me cry last night. For once in my life
>> I
>>> actually finally got to vote FOR someone and not
>>> against someone. A real vote for change and for
>> such
>>> an intelligent, imaginative, terrific person. I
>> still
>>> cannot find the words for the feeling I had when
>> we
>>> counted down the South Dakota primary closing, and
>>> immediately up popped " Senator Obama is the
>>> presumptive Democratic nominee for President."
>>> Such a night!

passing on a comment

Lots of emails today, here is another:

My support would be for Senator Jim Webb of Virginia: here's why
1. Hillary and Bill will alienate many voters (myself included, but I would still vote for the ticket, but be much less happy doing so) and assure Obama of NO crossover votes, which, without the two of them will surely come from fatigued Republicans. Those on the right aren't coming anyway.
2. Women are overwhelmingly (on the left and center of the political spectrum, not the far right) against the war. They will flock to Obama even without Hillary. I know they feel hurt at her failure to win the nomination, but, for my part, she is not the right person to be the standard bearer of the great honor of the first female major party nominee for President. So...the lack of her on the ticket will have no effect as it pertains to the vote of women.
3. Hillary and Bill come with a prepackaged attack campaign for McCain. They are sitting ducks. No two have EVER presented a greater wealth of ammunition to their opponent with which he or she could attack and obfuscate and distract the voting population from the real issues at hand. And, I truly believe, they are both ethically challenged (although both very bright).
4. There is no indication whatsoever that she has the level of political acumen as Bill. And, there is no truth to Hillary's claim of lengthy public service (as relates to Obama or anyone), which will certainly be played upon by McCain. She has been in the private sector her whole life and, the only time she was challenged to vote her conscience as a political figure, she failed and voted for the war. And...I personally do not believe it possible, that, as smart as she is, she truly believed the war was necessary, just or winnable. Nor did she believe, as she claims, the trumped up intelligence. But, regardless, to condone an unprovoked war against any country. That single act - a preemptive strike against a country that Bush held a grudge against, has alienated the entire pantheon of countries that may hold views or contain governments of which we (meaning Bush) do not approve. I believe those countries have very understandable cause to be frightened and angry at the U.S. for its unilateral belief during the Bush years that it was "manifestly destined" to police the world according to his whims and wrongheadedness. Anyone with even a cursory understanding of the Middle East, must know that the moment we leave Iraq and Afghanistan, now or in 100 years, it will immediately devolve into sectarian violence and civil war. Regardless of so called strides in decreasing violence. The level of "decreased" violence is so far beyond the pale that in any ordinary time, we would be shocked if a country had even one day's mortality rate, like Iraq and Afghanistan have every single day.
5. Webb would take away from McCain the "war hero" and "military knowledge" card he is sure to play. Webb is a hawkish, but, sane democrat. Plus, a good idea to have someone, anyone who has in fact served in the military. The country as a whole is sick of poor leaders that have no qualms about starting fights that others must sacrifice their lives to fight.
6. Finally, Barack, after winning with Webb, appoints Hillary to the Supreme Court. Smart, liberal, clearly a pit bull and she'll be around a long time. Someone to start trying to offset the disastrous rulings of Scalia and Thomas, not to mention Roberts and the rest. Supreme Court Justices see presidents as transients, so she should be honored.
I WORKED FOR BOTH MCGOVERN, MCCARTHY, CARTER, MONDALE AND CLINTON. NEVER HAVE I BEEN AS EXCITED AND HOPEFUL AS I AM THIS DAY. WHAT A HALLMARK DAY. THANK YOU MR. OBAMA.
DAVID ELLIS
