Good news! Obama investing in Texas long-term

(See you this afternoon! - promoted by Ian)

The campaign has decided to keep staff in Texas after March 4 to help us organize for our upcoming county and state delegate conventions.

We currently have a 3-7 delegate lead in Texas, and we need to stay organized on the grassroots level so that we don't lose any of our delegates on the county or state levels.

Volunteers across Texas are invited to join us today for a County/State Convention delegate training.  If you can't make today's event, we'll have more volunteer trainings soon.

Saturday, March 8

12:30 pm
Lunch Social
Hickory Street Grille (8th & Congress)

2;00pm
Volunteer training for County/State conventions
816 Congress Obama office, Suite #200 (9th & Congress)

Thank you to the Obama campaign for deciding to invest in Texas and keeping paid staff here to help guide us through this complicated delegate process.

Fired up!  Ready to go!

What is the "Volunteer training for County/State conventions"? (0.00 / 0)
I'm confused.  Regarding the training on Saturday at 2:00pm at the Austin HQ: is this training on how to be a delegate at the conventions?  Or is it training for volunteers who will work helping put on the conventions?  Or something else?

Thanks.

it is for delegates and delegation chairs (4.00 / 1)
so that they know what happens at the convention, where there is a small but real chance to lose delegates if you arent organized.

mainly we need to make sure people know that, like at the precinct level, the sign in really matters, so if you are slated to go you NEED to go, or swap yourself with someone who will.

also there are committees etc that need some attention, there more of us who know the process, the better.

that help?

adios
mario

Thanks for clarification! (0.00 / 0)
Yes, that helps a lot.  Thanks, Mario.  We'll be there!

Will the headquarters continue to be at 816 Congress, or is a new smaller place being opened and staffed?
Thanks.

Yes! (4.00 / 1)
The campaign (wisely) has decided to invest long-term in Texas and keep the 816 Congress office open at least through the county conventions.  In addition, the campaign is considering keeping regional offices open in Houston, DFW and San Antonio.  Stay tuned for more info...

The staff got a much-deserved couple of days off, but today it's time to get back to work.  Once they establish what their new office hours are, we'll post that info on our blog.
